Raytheon Cyber Academy– Junior Technologist

On this course, you will follow Raytheon’s Junior Technologist course, which includes two CompTIA exams and covers the foundational level skills which is the critical first step in establishing competency in a cyber security role.

 

The topics at this level establish a solid understanding of cyber security fundamentals, information assurance standards and cyber risk mitigation. You will also get a chance to take part in group projects to put your skills to the test

WILL I EARN A QUALIFICATION?

Yes, by completing this course you will achieve the Raytheon Cyber Academy certificate, as well as CompTIA A+ Core 2 (220-1002) and CompTIA Network+ (N10- 007)).

HOW IS THE COURSE DELIVERED?

This course is delivered using a hybrid model (classroom, remote & self-paced learning).

WHAT CAREERS CAN I GO INTO?

With this qualification, you can go into careers as a Junior SOC Analyst, Junior Cyber Security Advisor, Junior Penetration Tester, Junior Risk Analyst, PC Support Technician, IT Help Desk Technician, Jnr Network Engineer, Infrastructure Technician, Junior Policy Advisor.

WHAT MODULES WILL I COVER?

Modules you will learn are threats, attacks & vulnerabilities, technologies & tools (hardware & software), risk management, compliance & assessments (to implement configuration changes to improve security), and career preparation.

AM I ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?

As this course is funded by the Department for Education, there is an eligibility criteria that must be met before you are able to join the course.

It's essential that you are a resident of the North West aged 19 or over, and are either in-work, looking for work, or have been unemployed for 12 months or less.

In addition to this you will be asked to pass an online IT-IQ evaluation, and have some sort of personal IT experience through passionate hobby interest.
